Local veterans enjoy school brunch

Last Thursday, Scott Anderson and the TEMPUS club hosted a lunch-in at the school for local veterans.  Some of these veterans are former bulldog alumni from the school district who kept their local roots. Anderson has always been known for being very involved with veterans and the community and has a very strong and heartfelt reason for wanting to do special things like this for veterans.

Anderson said, “The reason that I believe so strongly in doing this can be summed up simply. We can never do enough to remember the sacrifice that these brave men and women have made to allow us to enjoy the simple freedoms we take so much for granted.   I think of my grandfather James Anderson, a World War 2 Marine. He always reminded me to thank veterans whenever I came across one. Those simple words of thanks mean so much. No one wants to be forgotten.”

Ethan Hunt, freshman and TEMPUS club member, said, “I think it is a great thing. Many veterans never get recognized or thanked for all that they have done for us, and I think this is a nice way to say thanks. I (personally) had fun, and think everybody involved did as well. I look forward to helping next year.”

Anderson holds these events for the TEMPUS club and the local veterans annually. The TEMPUS club helps out the community in many other ways as well like visiting some of the kids at the elementary schools in the district.
